Teacher

Vanda was a world renown high school and college art teacher. She has taught in Bangkok and won awards around the world. One of Vanda's students in Bangkok entered a painting in an art contest in New York City and placed first out of 220,000 entries. Vanda also teaches fruit carving.

Rom Thai

Rom Thai was founded by Vanda in 1998. Opening an authentic Thai restaurant was a life-long dream come true for Vanda.

She brings a concept of culture and art to Rom Thai. Beautiful original murals by Vanda can be seen throughout Rom Thai.

Volunteer Work

Vanda is very active in the community. She has spent countless hours volunteering throughout Hampton Roads. Some of the volunteer work she has participated in includes: Operation Smile, The Food Bank, Heritage event with the United States Navy, sponsor of Joint Force Staff College, Zoo To-Do, and various other art and cultural events.

In 2002, Vanda did a segment on WVEC's Lunchbreak Recipes with Janet Roach.

Awards

Three years in a row, Vanda has won the Food Bank award for best food presentation. She also received a presentation award from Norfolk's infamous Zoo-To-Do.

Fruit and Vegetable Carvings

Vanda carries on the Thai traditon of carving fruit and vegetables which goes back 1000 years in Thai culture. Contact Vanda to create one of her masterpieces for your next event.
